The Troendle Family

The Troendle Family spent several days enjoying Yellowstone National Park.  They visited the Old Faithful Geyser and many of the impressive sites that Yellowstone has to offer.

The Loehring Family

Mike was diagnosed with colorectal cancer that spread to his lungs and brain.  The Loehring Family spent time in Kansas City at Great Wolf Lodge, visiting Legoland and dining at Fritz.

In May, MFK received the following note.  “Just a note to say Thank You again.  Our girls were all born in May and each year they pick an organization to donate some of their birthday money to.  They all decided it should go to Memories for Kids.  We are so grateful for the memories we made at Great Wolf Lodge.

The Pomfret Family

Zach Pomfret was diagnosed with glioblastoma in December 2017.  Zach and his wife, Tiffany, have one son who was two when they traveled to Disney World.  Staying in a Cars Family Suite, they enjoyed the parks and pools for several days.

“Thank you could never be enough for the amazing gift you gave us!  Traveling to Disney World as a family was beyond our wildest dreams.  We will hold every second of that trip close to our hearts as Zach continue to fight his courageous battle.  We take great joy in knowing we won’t be the last family to receive such a fantastic gift.  Your entire organization is a precious, wonderful gift.

The Yebra Family

Maria is a single mother suffering from Stage IV terminal metastatic breast cancer. She has four children, 14, 13, 11 and 4. Her oldest son would skip school at times to stay home and take care of his mother. This is not the way Maria envisioned her children spending their childhood years. Prior to Memories For Kids stepping in, they had never traveled outside of Nebraska. This past summer, the entire family took their first plane ride to Orlando to enjoy Disney World.

The VanEngen Family

Dear Memories for Kids,
Words cannot describe how wonderful the trip you gave us was. I truly believe that Jesus gave Phil an extra week of feeling well to be able to enjoy the trip and to have a great time with our kids. We always were of the belief that there was going to be “more time”. If you hadn’t scheduled the trip when you did, we would have just put it off and never made such amazing memories. One week after we returned home, my sweet husband was taken to his heavenly home.
Thank you for your kindness. We would love to keep paying it forward for other families.

The Murphy Family

The Murphy Family – Mom was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in February 2016. The cancer had metastasized to her liver. She and her husband have three children – 17, 14 and 12. They spent some time in Kansas City at Great Wolf Lodge and attended a Royals Baseball Game. Below are the sweet notes we received from her children.

“We feel so truly blessed that there is an Organization out there that helps kids and families during such serious health issues. Thanks for all you have done to create memories for our Family.”

The Meza Family

Memories for Kids sent the Meza Family to Disney World in Orlando, Florida.  They stayed in the Little Mermaid room at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.  They enjoyed the parades, meeting Disney characters and classic rides like ‘It’s a Small World’ and the ‘Haunted Mansion’.  Christian’s favorite was Toy Story Mania, while Isabela loved meeting princesses.  This was their first trip to Disney World!

“We would like to thank Memories for Kids for granting us a dream come true vacation!  Words cannot express how appreciative we are of your generosity!”

The Friendt Family

The Friendt Family was looking forward to their trip to Clearwater, Florida to meet Winter the Dolphin at the Clearwater Aquarium. However, Lucas became too ill to travel.  Memories for Kids created fingerprint necklaces for the three children. Lucas lost his battle with cancer on April 24, 2017 at the age of 39.

We were honored to be able to give Lucas’ children this special keepsake.
